About the festival
In this spring annual festival of Takaoka Sekino Shrine, seven mikurumayama floats tour the town. By tradition, they originate from a court carriage given to the townspeople by Maeda Toshinaga when he built a castle and founded the town of Takaoka in 1609. Each float is named after its neighborhood, and every part is finely decorated.
