About the festival
This event is held at the annual festival of Keta Wakamiya Shrine in Hida-Furukawa. A mikoshi (portable shrine) procession and the pulling of yatai floats take place, and karakuri puppets, children's kabuki and other performances are presented on the floats. At night comes the Okoshi-daiko, in which men in white sarashi cloth carry a tower bearing a great drum through the streets, giving the festival both a calm side and a dynamic one.
