About the festival
This event combines the festivals of Shinmeisha, the guardian shrine of Kakunodate in Semboku City, and the Yakushido temple hall, held one after the other. Each neighborhood pulls a yama float decorated with warrior or kabuki dolls, with oyama-bayashi music played on board. When negotiations over the right of way break down, the floats are rammed into each other.
