About the festival
This is the festival of Haritsuna Shrine, said to have begun in 1635. The shrine's 13 parish neighborhoods bring out 13 floats carrying karakuri puppets. By day the karakuri are performed as offerings in front of the shrine, and at night the floats, lit with many lanterns, tour the castle town of Inuyama with its cherry blossoms in bloom.
