About the festival
These dances are handed down in the former Kori Village of Omura City. Of the three Kori dances (Kori San Odori), which also include Suko Odori, Okita Odori and Kuromaru Odori are included among the furyu odori. They are celebratory performances not tied to shrine festivals, and today they appear in rotation at events such as the Omura Autumn Festival. Both consist of two parts: a procession to the dance ground and the dance performed there.
